What about Races of the Dragon? There is a dragonborn "race" that would fit this very nicely. Dragon Heritage feats from RotD aren't exceptional, but fit the bill for what you're looking for.

If you're really powergaming, you don't want to be a 16th level sorcerer at all. You want one or more prestige classes because other than familiar advancement (which can be rectified with a feat if it's important to you), sorcerers gain absolutely nothing by staying in their base class.

Actually, sorcerers gain free use of their skill points and feat choices by not entering a prestige class.

I have not entered a prestige class with my cleric because of this.

Human. Sudden feats, take as many as you can. Take all the feats you can to increase the amount of spells you can cast per day. Take Extend spell and the other feat that increases duration even further (for buffs). No time for a prestige class when you are concentrating on dealing death and destruction.

Do not take non combat related spells. Just kill, protection, greater teleport, and buffs. Practice niche protection and not nerf thyself. Take Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion, but that's comes under protection.

All the magic items role is to keep you alive and to cast more spells. Pearl of power, Rod of Splendor etc... Oh you might want to get a normal wooden staff (maybe with 50 gp of silver inlays). Have confidence in your spells and if that don't work, stand back and let your companions shine. Have confidence in you friends, and be professional.

Noooooooo!!!!!

Seriously, if you don't want to nerf yourself, ignore this advice. A largely redundant set of attack spells is the easiest way to cripple a sorcerer. When people complain about sorcerers sucking and the superiority of the Warmage, it's because they followed that path with their spells. Rope Trick grants most of the function of MMM for a fraction of the cost. Pearls of Power don't even work for sorcerers - and, even if they did, they still don't help much since the weakness you want to rectify with items is the number of different spells you can cast, not the number per day.

If you want to do damage, take the most abusive spell out there (scorching ray is good, or sound lance), and be really rude with it, Take arcane thesis(spell of choice) and Rapid metamagic and a few good metamagic feats like empower, twin and so on (maximize is ok, but not as good as those two) If you do scorching ray, take Searing heat from sandstorm to get around fire resistance.

If you go this route you can do massive damage with a scorching ray.

Of course you want a few (read 2 or 3) other attack spells in cast your opponent wisely gives themselves spell immunity-scorhing ray, or gets in a globe of protection. But you only need 3-4 attack spells at any time. I would go with Magic Missle, Scorching ray, Chain Lightning, and take the dragon breath feat to allow some nice elemental damage of a type other than fire.

I love the idea of a draconic sorceror, and it is my favorite to play also. I would take

Draconic Heritage (Got to take it)
Dragon Breath (Nice damage. Lines are best, unless you have mass energy resistance for your allies)
Arcane Might (healing damage equal to spell level cast is really nice)

And any others you like like knowledge, and such. Toughness if you get a lot of the draconic feats
