The original T1 rules. Though there are some pretty large stretches in it (I mean, should nearly every peasant house have a magic item??), it's a great well-developed town dripping with adventure hooks. The only other module I've seen that manages this as well is The Secret of Bone Hill. Which, someday, I will use in 3e.

Return to Bone Hill would be a great 3.5 conversion product for the WotC site.

I'm currently running my players through Bone Hill and the other L series adventures 3.5 style.
how did you convert the assassins in L2? using a third party core class or did you make them into rogues/ fighters with the intention of them eventually reaching the PrC?

I'm probably gonna use the Master Class books... otherwise they end up all lop-sided.

*EDIT*

Of course I haven't set that down firmly yet and I'm having thoughts of just using the PrC.

AGHHH!!!

The giant frogs in the moat are still one of the encounters I remember most from D&D, as are the zombies later on in the dungeon.
A game is always good when it includes giant frogs.

Yes, it was so much better than what followed in ToEE, and then to find that they had cut out a lot of the info for the village...

Did anyone notice that Elizabeth Moon's Divided Allegiance was pretty much TVoH? Right down to the ranger in disguise with the BIG weapon...
