Building a Succubus

I could use some expertise!

One of my players is building a Succubus, and I've compared the MM 3.5 with the Savage Species info on the Succubus and wanted to know what I should do.

From what I can tell, the MM 3.5 shows the Succubus gets a +16 to Chr, while the Savage Species info shows a +10. Which is correct? Are there any other descrepencies? Is the ECL 12, as in the SS?

Also - what book has the male version (Incubus?)

Thanks for your help!

The Succubus in 3.0 had Cha 20, the one in 3.5 has Cha 26, thus +10 and +16. Since Savage Species is 3.0 you should use the +10 bonus.

According to the book 'Malleus maleficarum' by H. Institoris and J. Sprenger, Incubi and Succubi are the same beings. Since a demon is not able to reproduce, they first seduce a male and steal his semen and corrupt it. They then turn into an Incubus, seduce a female and give to her the corrupted semen, impregnating the female with demonic progeny.

BTW, Succubi are able to polymorph so there's no reason why they shouldn't turn into whatever they need to accomplish their goals. ;)

Thanks for the info!

So, even if I am using playing a 3.5 game, I should use the Savage Species stat block info?

Just want to make sure I am understanding you correctly.

Just took a look at Savage Species, Succubi start out with +6 Cha and gain another +10 to Cha during their 12 level ascension. Seems okay to just use the stats as presented in Savage Species.

BTW the 3.0 MM1 secifically mentions that succubi sometimes appear as male and are then called incubi.
