Building Full Metal Alchemist...

This ought could be fun... and quite honestly I think it is relatively up 4e's alley.
The characters are Big Damn Hero and Villains (and a few unusual side-kicks and support)
Most of the heros are magic wielders of some stripe... But the strangely sympathetic
villain on the left is definitely epic class Martial capability.



Arguably this batch should be built purely as monsters..




Arguably eds first ritual is an attempt at a level 8 ritual so we could easily declare him solidly paragon even in the early part of the show

Some initial speculation most of the worlds magics aka alchemy are ritualistic, involving obtaining the right mind state by engraving a task specific alchemy circle which might take a minimum of a minute or even days to accomplish but an existing circle can speed that a bit most of these circles are also quite good size and immobile however significant number of heroics usually have personalized work arounds that enable flashy awesome combat. Ed (and some others) has seen beyond the gate and just outright conjures a circle in the moments he works the spell. others can use a single small circle in arguably less versatile but combat ready ways without creating it for the specific effect... etc.

Eds Alchemy features large barriers, nasty terrain effects and in general huge areas from range lots ie lots and lots of control... but also personal acrobatic movement which he uses to weave through that and using his mechanical hand transformed in to a short broad blade for up close and in person combat which he does not shirk

Al who might be best made as a Warforged fights largely physically with a paladin personality and ahem armor to boot/martial artist or does warlordish tricks or aid another for some of Eds Alchemy and similar things.

The world itself has lots of mooks and technology but an epic albeit superhuman swordsman can cut bullets and similar.
