Burger me!

I don't recall @CleverNickName doing this thread ... if it's a repeat feel free to debate In-N-Out vs Five Guys vs Whataburger.

What's your go-to burger? What ingredients? What's your stack?

For the purpose of discussion let's start with defining a burger as a meat (or pseudo-meat) patty between two pieces of some form of bread, with condiments and toppings.

Here's mine: Sliced toasted ciabatta roll. Ground beef 80/20 patty; colby jack chunks mixed in the patty and grilled. Stacked: bottom roll, ketchup, patty, thick heirloom tomato seasoned with chicken salt, red onion slices, leaf lettuce, mayo, top roll.

My frequent Friday night dinner is a couple of supermarket Angus burgers with melted TexMex cheese on sesame rolls, with Frank's Red Hot, sliced pickle, jalapenos, , yellow mustard, and ketchup (zero sugar).

If it's fast food then one of three; Baconator from Wendy's, two Classic Burgers from Harvey's (banana peppers, pickles, mustard, ketchup), or a couple of Teen Burgers from A&W. Harvey's would be my usual go-to.

Grass fed beef salt and pepper. Cook in skillet to medium. Use a couple of dabs of balsamic and olive oil on the bun to toast in skillet. Slice a long piece of mozzarella, basil, and some cherry tomatoes. Combine and there you have a fresh tasty caprise burger.

Since I don’t eat things with four legs for health reasons, I like and make a lot of fish, veggie and chicken burger variants. Currently my favourite is probably a minced chicken patty seasoned with Thai chili, fish sauce, cilantro etc, with light, fluffy and relatively thin wheat bread buns. Thinly sliced scallions and a Thai seasoned mayo is good toppings on that one.

And me and my wife always make our own burgers, no fast food or takeaway burgers for us, simply because our own are tastier and healthier.

Oh, and I must mention my wifes minced fresh tuna burgers, with a topping of Thai plum sauce. That sauce is a bi*ch to make and takes forever, but omg the taste

I don't get to eat burgers very often anymore (gotta watch my cholesterol) so my go-to burger...the one I eat the most often...is a homemade burger. I grind a pound of lean sirloin with a teaspoon of salt (I have a meat grinder attachment on my KitchenAid), and cook it medium-rare. I dress my burgers with brown mustard, raw onion, and dill pickles. No cheese, alas.

I have very fond memories of Sonic Drive-In, though. My favorite fast-food burger was (and still is) their No. 2 Supersonic with Cheese, served with onion rings and a cherry limeade. I'd be eating that for dinner tonight if this body was 30 years younger. :)

Fry bread base, venison, worchestershire sauce, beefsteak tomato, red onion, coleslaw, tomato relish

Or fry bread, paua (abalone), onion

My most frequently eaten burger is either a bacon avocado cheeseburger (with lettuce, pickles, and mayonnaise I think) or American cheese, grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, pickles, and an egg depending on which place I go to more frequently.
