Burger me!

BBBs get a bad rap, but I think they're delicious. The trick is to stop trying to make them taste like something they're not (beef), and let them be what they always have been: a delicious bean burrito in sandwich form. Add green chilis, some avocado, a slice of pepper jack, your favorite salsa...

They aren't burgers. Embrace that truth!
Oh heck yeah!

Black bean burgers are absolutely tasty!

I think that's true of a lot of burger replacements. I rather like the A&W masala burger, it's not a burger in any way but is a lovely curry-flavoured bean-and-potato patty sandwich, halfway to being a vada pav (which are great). I prefer it to any of A&W's actual burger offerings, which are sadly subpar.

In my world a burger is absolutely a sandwich. But then so is a pita, and a burrito.
I’m with you on all of that except burritos.🤷🏾‍♂️

There used to be a sandwich chain called The Hip Pocket which used pitas as their only bread. They used large, thick ones, sliced in half with the contents stuffed in the pocket. A generous amount of shredded iceberg and some sliced tomatoes were standard. They haven’t existed where I live for at least 20 years, but I still remember my order: ham, roast beef and chicken with green goddess dressing.

I’d make my own, but it’s hard to find a good green goddess dressing these days, and I don’t feel like making my own.
