Butterfly Effect Director's Cut DVD

First Post
I just barely watched this DVD, and I'm still in disbelief. The director's cut features a completely different ending than the theatrical version, and is quite twisted (and a little depressing). It puts a rather different spin on the movie.

So, anybody else see the Director's Cut of this movie yet? Opinions?

I hate Ashton Kutcher.......SOOOOO much.........

When I first saw the trailer for the movie, my first thought was, 'Damn Kutcher for being in a movie that actually looks good!' I have yet to see the movie, is it worth sitting through 2 1/2 hours of Ashton? :\

My reservations were similar to yours. I had trouble picturing Ashton Kutcher in a non-comedic role, but he handled himself surprisingly well in Butterfly Effect. He proved that he is capable of playing a character who isn't the "grinning idiot" he usually plays.

So yes, I recommend Butterfly Effect.

I even hate him as the 'grinning idiot'. He's just one of those actors that rubs me the wrong way. It will be very hard for me to watch this movie without holding on to my deep hatred of this actor. :\

Well, I can't say that I don't understand that point of view. I'm the same way with Ben Affleck. With the exception of Dazed and Confused and Mallrats, I don't think there's a single role I've liked him in. :p

Ben Affleck? Bleh!!!

I just watched the movie for the first time last night. Saw both endings. First, it's a great movie. Ashton haters, it's worth sitting through. As for the alternate ending, I much prefer the theatrical ending. The other was good, but a little weird, and certainly more twisted.

But I really enjoyed the movie.

I saw the movie last week and liked it very much except the stupid ending on the director's cut. Although I don't like him, and it looks like I may not be the only one, AK did a awesome job in his role. The dude can act when he's not being goofy

I don't see why so many people consider him good looking. Personally, I'm attracted to men who actually look intelligent. :p
