Buying Anime?

So where does everyone buy their anime? I get mine for a few places.

Best Buy: When you want to walk down the street.

Right Stuff: Web site that often has some fantastic deals.

E-Bay: Let the buyer beware, but I've found some collections like Hellsing and Cowboy Bebop very inexpensive here.

Animeondvd.com: Not a shop in and of itself but often has links to numerous shops that have great deals.

Right Stuf usually has some super cheap bargains (like $0.99 vhs). Ebay's also good, but, as with anything bought there, it's buyer beware (I once got a defective disc and had to wait several months for a replacement. In the meantime, the seller got suspended for selling illegal copies of other movies, so I guess I should consider myself lucky I got my disc at all).

EB Games and stores like FYE (For Your Entertainment) sell used games and movies, so you might stumble across something at a good price. I was just at a mall this week and the EB Games there had several anime dvds for between $6 and $10. The FYE strangely decided to do away with the used movie section and mix the used discs with the regular ones, which makes the bargain hunting a pain. :\

I'm more of a casual anime fan, so I tend to only buy cheaper dvds just in case I don't like them.

I buy most of mine from Suncoast (thanks to my discount card). If I'm looking for something rare, or I want to preorder something brand new I buy from Animenation.com

Usually I compare Best Buy and Suncoast, now that we have both in town. Sometimes I buy from Cookiejar Video if it's a series or movie that I don't think will be packaged in the US (Shaolin Soccer) or is at a truly ridiculous price (Descendants of Darkness; 12 episodes priced at $99.98); if those two factors change then I buy the American release.

Best Buy has suprisingly good prices a lot of the time, but I still usually go with Right Stuf International, especially now that I have a membership. On occasion I've been known to go to another online store - Anime Castle. They had a great price on Vision of Escaflowne DVDs, and they carry more soundtracks than Right Stuf.

For the most part, I'll hit Fry's or Best Buy, depending on who's the publisher of the DVD in question (BB is great for ADV and some Bandai titles, but Fry's beats them out with Geneon's titles and has a much better selection overall). I used to get them from another local video place, which offered 20% off new releases, but they recently got out of DVD sales to focus on home theater hardware.
