Buying 'augmented' alchemical items

The epic feat Augmented Alchemy lets you multiply the cost of an item and up its craft DC by 20 to make it twice as good. Ignoring the fact that there probably aren't that many epic alchemists hanging around, do you think it's fair to let PCs buy such items? Like 100 gp for alchemist fire that does 2d6 damage each round?

Of course, this stuff would probably be fairly limited, maybe only available in some place like Sigil. Not that I think it's broken. Really, the feat doesn't need to be epic.

By the way, has anyone else noticed that the 25gp of silver powder used to cast bless water to make a flask of holy water is 250 silver coins, which weighs 5 pounds? And a flask of holy water weighs 1 pound. I guess the silver just disintegrates, like so many magic items. Maybe magic is a advanced form of psychically-controlled fission.

Not only does the feat not need to be epic; the items are so useless at epic levels, what epic character would ever spend time to make them or buy them?

A sunrod that lasts 12 hours instead of 6 (cost: 10 gp)
Antitoxin that gives you a +5 alchemical bonus vs. poison for 2 hours instead of 1 hour.
A tanglefoot bag that lasts 4d4 rounds instead of 2d4.
A thunderstone that makes people deaf for 2 hours instead of 1.

The acid, the fire, and the smokestick are the only ones I could actually imagine someone using; but at DC 35 or 40, who would make them?

For the increase of the DC by 20, there should be some spectacular increases in the substances.

Like:
Alchemical fire: 2d6/round until put out (still uses normal means to put out)
Acid: 2d6/round until diluted (1 quart of water and a full-round action).
Smoke in a 20-ft. cube that resists winds for 1d4 minutes.
Antitoxin that makes you immune to poisons for 10 minutes.
A tanglefoot bag that turns its target to stone for 1 minute.
etc.
