The epic feat Augmented Alchemy lets you multiply the cost of an item and up its craft DC by 20 to make it twice as good. Ignoring the fact that there probably aren't that many epic alchemists hanging around, do you think it's fair to let PCs buy such items? Like 100 gp for alchemist fire that does 2d6 damage each round?
Of course, this stuff would probably be fairly limited, maybe only available in some place like Sigil. Not that I think it's broken. Really, the feat doesn't need to be epic.
By the way, has anyone else noticed that the 25gp of silver powder used to cast bless water to make a flask of holy water is 250 silver coins, which weighs 5 pounds? And a flask of holy water weighs 1 pound. I guess the silver just disintegrates, like so many magic items. Maybe magic is a advanced form of psychically-controlled fission.
