Buying habits at FLGS events

Just wondering what peoples' buying habits are when they are involved at events at their FLGS.

For myself, I bought the vast majority of my minis from the host stores(s) back in skirmish days.

Now that the store is ordering the LFR modules and hosting, I usually try to buy something when I'm there: a module, book, Dungeon Tiles or set of dice.

I really appreciate the service they offer and they are always happy to see me or any of the players. I guess I'm pretty lucky as there are a number of stores around the metro and opportunities for many kinds of gaming entertainment. I like having local stores where I can check things out, ask about new products, demo games (WoW minis just the other day, for example). For me it's worth buying most of my stuff there.

What are some of you practices/experiences?

Because I normally only buy from amazon, if I do go to an instore event, I will always buy something when I do. New dice, box of minis, OotS book, something.

I'll always buy a couple drinks (big margin item), and if they have in stock something I want I'll buy it, but often other game day attendees have snagged what I wanted (e.g. DT2 was something I wanted to get but couldn't last week) because someone came in 30 minutes before me and bought all the remaining copies.

I buy as much as I can from my FLGS. I have more than a couple of them too...

Another thing, buy with cash if you can. Credit fees only seem to go up.

Since I buy books from amazon, I usually buy something I can't get readily online. Metal minis, new dice, different (non-dnd) systems, etc. I also like to raid the discount bin if they have one.
