Byngl's database.pak editor

Has anyone else had problems with this? I just downloaded it today (yeah, I know it's old) to edit the database on the character gen program. Every time I try to select the database.pak for editing, though, I either get a "run time error 76" message, or I get a gray message box that has no text, just an "OK button. Pushing that button just gets me another box, and I had to CTRL-ALT-DEL and restart the entire computer to get out of it.

Any idea how to corrent the problem, or is it an unavoidable flaw in the software?

Ok, this is just weird. Look at the dates on these posts. uberhiker has a grand total of 4 posts, 2 of which are in this thread, both of them cases of shameless thread necromancy. What goes on?

It's an editor for the old, OLD, old character generator demo that came with the Players Handbook 3.0. You can edit the program to include magical items, etc. I like the GUI so I still use it. I may be the only one.

Got a laugh out of the Thread Necromancy, good one. The first post on this of mine wasn't, the second one was. I found it on the internet by accident while looking for Byngl's site.

Anyhow, search for Byngl, Character generator demo, D&D and you should find it if you are interested. Install the full version first, it's in the middle of the list of downloads for this. Then if you want, hit it with the latest update. Not realy necessary though. Just unzip and it'll self install when you point it at the right folder.

Sincerely,

Old School
