Calculating saves

How? Bad saves are 1/3 and Good are 2/3?

Bad saves are indeed 1/3 total HD.

Good saves on the other hand is 1/2 total HD +2.

Example:

A random Dire Animal with 10HD

Good saves: Fort and Ref.
Bad saves: Will

Which makes: Fort +7, Ref +7, Will +3

Always remember to round down.

or you could pop open the PHb and use the HD as levels to find the good save(s) ... same for poor save(s)

Ofcourse you can do that too, but what if the creature has, say 37HD? therefore the formula I presented earlier is much easier to use, see...
