Well, considering that the game could be run in a Delta Green type setting (which is what I plan to do), statistics for a number of firearms sounds like a really good thing to have.

... in other words, basically what I said. :D

Which Elder God was it?

Was it a very ordered and scheming elder god, or was it one who would have done it just because it's utterly chaotic?

Now I am intrigued...

Ach, I can never keep motivations straight - read it a long time ago. Off the top of my head, I can definitely say both Bast and Hypnos have played behind-the-scenes-benefactor, but damned if I can remember whether either of them had an ulterior motive at the time. let me get back to you on that, eh?

Nodens? I'm not exactly up on my Mythos lore, though.

Oh I'm not upset about it. They did a good job on that section, and I'm sure I'll use some of it. If nothing else it's a good read. My opinion is just that the space would have been better used to support the type of campaign that the rest of the book supports. It's a bit like finding a comprehensive magic system in a product like d20 Modern, that's all.

And Hong's right, you can never have too many guns. :)

Probably not - as far as I can recall, Nodens is a pacifist. He's used his magic to banish a lesser Outer God or two when they pissed him off, but other than that he's not a "get in there" kind of god. There are cases of him transporting a favored individual human out of harm's way, but I can't think of a single instance of him weighing in on the side of humanity as a whole.

How much of the Kaiju good godzilla/bad godzilla monster bash non-HPL stuff crept into the book? Also, where did that testicle/vagina stuff come from? It's not HPL and doesn't really seem necessary to the book. I don't mind that kind of stuff but it seems gratuitous and of little to no value to have that in there - especially since I can only assume that it must come from an HPL derived work rather than the man himself.
