I've been wondering for ages, where does your signature come from? It sounds to me like it's from a book or something, and seems vaguely familiar. And creepy. . . "and one day all the statues had blank faces". I've tried it on google, and only come up with your posts.

Please explain, every time I see it I mean to ask!

Thanks,

Hi :)

Actually, it was the starting point for the initial description for a campaign I ran called "Faceless Statues", which was itself somewhat based on the catalyst of Guy Gavriel Kay's novel Tigana.

The campaign was set in a small, isolated valley. The largest community was a large town (only one). Through some intense magics, a group of necromancers essentially cut the valley off from communications with their gods. The physical representation of this was that every statue of the gods was found to have a smooth oval instead of a face. No one could remember what the statues were there for, but everyone assumed that they were important for some obscure reason. The PCs had each had visions that the statues had to be freed from a curse, even though no one else in the communities believed them.

Quite a nice campaign, actually :) We had a great time with it, especially when one of the PCs essentially "went over to the Dark Side" and joined the necromancers.

But if anyone else knows a book connected wtih this idea, I would truly love to hear about it! :)
