Campaign Classics is coming back!

As much as I enjoyed the Far Realm article in Dragon #330, the best thing in the issue was the reply to a letter in Scale Mail, stating that not only is the Campaign Classics issue returning this winter, but it is becoming an annual feature!

For those who don't remember this issue, it essentially had an article on almost every setting WOTC/TSR has ever produced. It gave us the return of Zargon, the tortle, and defilier magic, among other things.

This thrills me to no end. The Campaign Classics issue is my favorite issue since 3E began. I look forward to the return of more classic material from these beloved dead settings.

The Campaign Classics issue got a lot of use by me and my group so I'm looking forward to it.

Hopefully we get some Spelljammer and more Al-Qadim stuff this time around with some more updates on Oriental Adventurers ala Kara-Tur (maybe a 'generic' samurai or something.)

Since Ravenloft, Forgotten Realms and Greyhawk are currently well supported, I'd be in favour of not covering those settings to get more info on others that are currently in limbo (never say die!), especially Al-Qadim, Kara-Tur, Maztica and Hollow World.

Heck I'd love to see an Arabian Adventures hardback to cover Zakhara, and a 3.5 Oriental Adventures that covered Kara-Tur (what were they thinking using Rokugan???), but then I love the Realms and I extend to that every corner of Toril. Since it is unlikely that we will get the above mentioned books, I'd love to see an article or two on how to use these other parts of planet in conjunction with Faerun, like some info how the timelines of Zakhara and Kara-Tur relate to Dale Reckoning, that would rock! Spelljammer would be good too, as that setting has had an effect on the Realms (read Evermeet: Island of Elves and see what I mean).

Huzzah!

The campaign classics have been my favorite part of Dragon in recent years. I like seeing them revisit some old, and often forgotten, settings.

Maybe they can revisit Maztica and give us plumaweaver and hishnashaper PrCs.

Same here, I'm GLAD they're making it a annual themed issue. I hope the Spelljammer articles cut from the prior issue makes a showing.

Well, I'm not a Greyhawk fan, player or DM, but...

To call Greyhawk "well supported" seems to be a pretty vast overstatement. I run DragonLance, and apart from FR right now, I'd say we are better "supported" than Eberron or even Ravenloft (post 3.5).

For being the "default setting" for D&D, Greyhawk gets virutally SFA in terms of formal product support. Living City is about it - and that's not enough if I was a Greyhawk fan.

Near as I can tell, if it was not for Paizo and their recent 4 part Greyhawk map, to call Greyhawk supported at all might be a stretch...

I'll second that.

Over the past few years, we've had to retrofit FR or generic material to fit the setting. I'm a bit tired of that, and if I want to put that much time on things I'd rather spend it on a homebrew. I am therefore pleased as punch with Erik's support for Greyhawk in the pages of Dragon and Dungeon.

Actually, Greyhawk has seen alot of increased support. Dungeon is featuring many adventures based in Greyhawk and has created adventure backdrops and critical threats. Complete Divine features an expanded Greyhawk pantheon.

Eberron is very well-supported lately. As someone who dislikes the setting, I notice it everywhere. It is at least as well-supported, if not more so, than the Forgotten Realms so far this year.

Did they ever mention what the article was about?
