Again, please remember that the article was written for a previous edition.
Oh, that's fine :) I again enjoyed this immensly RC :D You have very interesting ideas, in many subjects.

Nyaricus, if you can send me formatting for the chart, I'll update the article to use the formatted chart instead of the illustration. I'm not sure that the illo does any harm, though, so don't go to too much effort!
Actually, RC, I have a better method than even formatting. It involves you learning a new set of skills, but the work is actually quite minimum, once you get into the swing of things ;):)

So, go to the photobucket website and make yourslf an account. What this does is it hosts pictures on your account and allows you to use them mid-thread, like in this thread of mine (Link).

When in photobucket, you could copy the url's of your pics you ahev atached to your thread, upload them to your photobucket account, delete the attachements to your thread and then replace the spots where your pics go with the Img line of your now-uploaded Photobucket pictures.

Thus, you will have these pics in their right spot, all of them, and not just your chart, hwoever outdated it is :)

Hope that helps! If you need anythgin else, please ask :)

I would dearly love some feedback on these articles, especially any neat ideas that other people have on the basis of them (i.e., stuff I can steal!). I'm trying to have an Undead Encounters article similar to the Faerie Encounters one done in time for Halloween. Give me some feedback so I can be motivated on this stuff!

Undead Encounters? ooooh, I got a couple, from celtic mythology I'd love to be statted up and given encounters for :D Lemme think about that...

Thank you. And thank you for teaching me a new skill set!
Hey, no problem :D There are quite a few neat little skills which can be picked up on the internet, and thats one of them. Just remeber if you end your photobucket account or delete that image off of it, the pic won't show up in the threads anymore ;)

I'm thinking that this will be along the same lines as the Faerie Encounters article....more of a toolbox of ideas than actual encounters. From where I sit, undead are cool monsters that are sometimes used to less-than-cool effect. The 3.X ghost rocks compared to previous editions, but they are seldom used in a truly "creepy" way.

For a good example of what I mean, look at the Lighthouse preview from Ptolus in the current Game Trade Magazine. Three ghosts haunt a lighthouse, and they all work together to attack people who disturb them using hit-and-run tactics. The same as every other monster in 3.X. The same as Mavarothix in this thread.

3.X did a great job supplying mechanics to differentiate various types of monsters, but the unfortunate truth is that it's far too easy to present these monsters in exactly the same way, despite what they are. I know it's a trap that I sometimes fall into!
Too true about 3.x mechanics; I an often at fault for that, and I suppose I should get back into reading more (on a recent trip however I read a 750 page book in 2 days, which was awesome :D). Anyways, I enjoyed your Faerie encounters thread and look forward to undead encounters as well. I am going to see about running a D&D game on Hallowe'en (likely a one-shot) and have some Heroes of Horrow/Libris Mortis action in there - but I love your works and would obviously try to incorperate some of it in it as well :D

Anyway, thanks again, and I hope I get the article done in time!
Awesome, I look forward to it! Personally, if you want to use an undead to great effect, I'd love the Banshee and the Famine Spirit (or even just normal Ghouls, which they closely resemble) from MMII have some love :)
