Campaign creation software/help?

Hey folks,

I'm not entirely sure this is the correct forum for this but I didn't see a world building forum. Please let me know if this belongs somewhere else.

I'm looking for recommendations on mind-mapping software that works well with world creation and campaign mapping.

Does anyone here use something along those lines?

There was a discussion in the Software forum a while back. You might find some info there. BTW, I have heard good things about MS One Note that some were using.

I'd recommend a MPTW, which is a particular flavor of tiddlywiki, which is a small, self-contained wiki.

Excellent! Thanks for the suggestions. I'm checking them all out now.

I've never really used any mind-mapping or planning software for a campaign before and MS Project is just. . . well MS Project. *shudder*

I've got way to many ideas popping up and I'm finding myself shuffling to the computer at 2 in the morning to jot down an idea. I need a central repository that isn't a .txt file and then a way to organize all of this after I'm more awake and have had coffee.

I'm looking for recommendations on mind-mapping software that works well with world creation and campaign mapping.

I'm using CMap Tools for my campaign mapping: CmapTools - Home Page Cmap.html

My favorite mind mapping software has been MindManager (not free) or FreeMind, but in general I prefer the non-linear nature of concept maps (because, as I mentioned in another thread, I think in circles: http://www.enworld.org/forum/genera...gms-how-do-you-keep-track-big-story-arcs.html)
