Campaign idea - Controlling a million zombies

Jürgen Hubert

First Post
Inspired by a recent discussion, I got the following idea for a campaign:

The PCs are in control of a million zombies. Now what are they going to do with them?

I want you to come up with possible campaign frames that explain how the PCs got control over a million zombies and what might happen next in the campaign. They can be humorous, horror, or anything in between.

Your thoughts?

I think all has been said here. Fortunately DreadPirateMurphy was speaking about our real world, so I can still give my opinion when it comes to the game: I think the PCs can now build a whole city of their own for cheap.

Necromantic society bent on world domination, performs ritual to kill everyone in their kingdom, succeeds, and now, the rest of the world.

The PCs are all good-aligned, and the zombies are waiting to be returned to their living status. The zombies will, of course, be zombies; but, the PCs need to keep them from doing (too many) things they'd later be ashamed of.

How will they prevent the zombies from causing evil, and still keep the zombies intact long enough for them to be returned to their living selves?

Okay, how's this:

1. Find any appropriate tomb of horrors.
2. Lead Zombie hoarde into said tomb, use Mob rules from DMG 2. Clear out all problematic encounters.
3. Strip the dungeon to the walls, hell, if you can, take some of the walls (zombies can dig)
4. Sell everything that dosn't have an immediately obvious cash value at auction. (make sure a particularly charismatic person with high social skills does the actual auctioning)
5. Use the dungeon walls that you took to build a temple to whatever god is most influential in that region. Pledge fealty to the clerics of that god in exchange for assistance in ressurecting as many from the hoarde as is possible.
6. Make sure to talk with dead to discover what kind of people they were before you ressurect them. Really bad folk can stay dead. The good ones might enjoy being alive again...
