Hey, do you local guys wanna run the Undead Hunter campaign again (with properly calculated critter CRs
)? Or would you like to start a new more generalized campaign?

thormagni said:I'd play it again. Although I would like to firmly set house rules on it before we start. For example, I didn't much care for the wound points system. And I thought the monsters were killer tough. Of course, we all probably got enough xp to go up a couple of levels
Basically, I think an undead hunter game could be fun. I wonder if it would be more fun if we started with mid-level characters instead of low-level?
Odovacar's Ghost said:How about we play poltergeist-like critters. As in, we start at 30th level and instead of gaining experience, we lose experience. So, if we lose however many experience it takes to go from 29 to 30th, we are now 29th level instead.
This will make it easier on the DM. Instead of thinking up new and very difficult adventures every time we play, he would be able to make easier ones. As the time goes by.

I dunno about that, but Magic Items will be rare.![]()
thormagni said:The only problem I would have with magic items being too rare is that, as I recall, a lot of undead require magic weapons to be hurt or to get past their DR. If we can't hurt them and they can hurt us... well, it would be a short game. We wouldn't really be undead "hunters" so much as fools who chase and then get eaten by undead
Player: "I stab it with my masterwork great sword. Natural 20 and I have a crit. 24 points of damage"
GM: "But wait. It is undead, so it is immune to crits, and you don't have a magic weapon, so your damage barely gets past its DR. It smiles, licks its lips and eats your head."
I mean, a Vampire has a DR of 10/silver or magic.
Really though, I think even a modern undead hunter game would be cool. I have a bunch of the Hunter books from White Wolf (which I haven't read a lot of) but always thought would be a fun game. Maybe a D20 Modern or Call of Cthulhu D20 version of that would be fun.
(Edited for clarification)
