D&D 5E Can a Battlemaster pickup a disarmed weapon as part of his action?

I wouldn't have a problem with players doing it on occasion. If they abused it though then I would deal with the situation by having it used against them as much as they use it. Once it started getting used against them repeatedly then I think they will have a change of heart about how useful it is.

Just don't set the standard where you get very detailed with martial ability, and give spells or skills a pass. You have casters using effective tactics over and over, and the battlemaster abilities are limited use.

I agree the entire martial side of the table in regards to ability should be more flexible and/or complex, versus getting stuck in the abstract/simple bag.
