I second that. A carrion crawler, a monster which attacks by paralyzing multiple opponents, considers a paralyzed opponent to be out of the fight, and focusses on live opponents. I recall there was a Dragon Magazine story regarding carrion crawler attacks, and the crawler in that story did not CDG paralyzed opponents, as they were considered out of the fight. In the case of a carrion crawler, such a behavior would be unlkely to have evolved naturally, since it would be detrimental to the survival of the crawler. Taking a full round action to intentionally attack an opponent which isn't going to get back up under normal circumstances will prevent the crawler from attacking other, still active, opponents, a behavior which would be harmful to it.
