Can AC get worse than 10?

Yeah, your AC can get worse than 10, but it's REALLY sad if it does. Theoretically, if you were to advance an Ooze to Colossal size, it would in fact have 0 AC. But unless you're playing as an Ooze, don't worry about that. Why do you ask this question, anyway? I hope it's for sheer curiosity, because if you're actually playing a character with a Dex penalty and no armor or shield (the only way you could conceivably sink below 10 naturally), then you'd better have a great Con score, or you might want to rethink your strategy. :\

Can anything wind up with a negative AC?

Easy. Take any Huge creature with no natural armor bonus, and knock it out.

AC against melee attacks:

10
-2 (Size)
-5 (Effective Dex of 0)
-4 (Prone)

Total: -1.

-Hyp.

Also Size Colossal Advanced Oozes with 1 Dex and no natural armour easily make it:

10 - 8 Size - 5 Dex = -3

So, my Ranger could have an AC of 6 then if he has a Dex of 3?

AC5 if prone

ANy other ways on normal low level characters without having them tied up and gagged?
