Can anyone help? RE: Summon Nature's Ally, Augmented Summoning

Hello,

Through a recent series of events, my Druid character now has the Augmented Summoning feat. I admit it; I am looking for someone to save me a lot of work, since I find it hard to calculate this stuff on the fly without taking too much time!

So, my question is, has anyone out there made up a list of "augmented" animals? OR, can someone give me a quick "checklist" of things that change?

I am trying to prep and am afraid that I (not being a number crunching expert) may miss changes that the +4 to Str and Con make to summoned animals.

Thanks so much for any help you can give me!

I don't recall offhand what the feat does, other than what you mentioned, and I can't help you exactly. But you could do a quick and dirty. Just take whatever is written for the animal, add 2 hit points per hit die of the animal, and add +2 to hit and damage on all attacks. It's not precise (like with animals with weapon finesse or damage with secondary attacks), but...

Con changes:
  • Hit points (+2 per HD)
  • Fortitude saves (+2, period)
  • Concentration checks (not likely to be particularly important for animals, could be for some other critters).
Str changes:
  • Damage per attack. For creatures with more than one attack, this is +2 to the main attack and +1 to the others. For creatures with a single attack, this is usually +3. Remember to apply this to special attacks as well.
  • Attack bonus. Unless the animal has Weapon Finesse, this is +2 to hit. If the animal does have Finesse, check if Str is now higher than Dex. If so, adjust the attack roll accordingly.
  • Climb, Jump and Swim checks.
Str also alters encumbrance, but that's not very relevant for most monsters.

DCs change. Snake poison DC increases by 2, as do the DCs for elementals' special attacks (whirlwind, burn, vortex). This can be quite important.

Grapple bonus increases by +2. Good for the large bears, constrictor snakes, and some other animals.
