D&D 3E/3.5 Can Druids use the Longspear in 3.5?

As the subject of this post says it, can druids use the longspear in 3.5?

Since the druid description says something about a shortspear and a spear, i'm not shure if they can

Proficiency in spear != proficiency in longspear, just like being proficient in longsword doesn't make you proficient in greatsword. The longspear in D&D is basically another name for the pike, and druids don't receive training in its use.

Oops, I didn't want to start an discussion about this topic, I was just wondering if someone might have heard something along the the lines of 'the sap should be on the rogue's weapon list,' said Andy Collins. The old druid (3.0) after all was able to use it and now it's missing. Since there are a lot of mistakes regarding the new equipment redesign, I thought that maybe it was another accidental conversion omission.

Oops.

My original post was about the fact that I didn't think the spear was even a weapon. I didn't realize that 3.5 changed the terminology of spears, ie that the halfspear became a shortspear, the shortspear became a spear and the longspear stayed the same.

Remember a druid can still use a long spear (or greatsword or longbow) he just needs the proficiency for it.

No. Halfspear, longspear, shortspear, and spear are different weapons. Longspear is not on the 3.5 druid list.

Well well, since noone heard of it being a mistake, I'll have to strip all druids of their favored weapon IMC.
