Can Enlarge bust a door?

The hinges are attended to the door, so if the spell wasn't allowed to hit attended objects, you would have to target the door as a whole, not just one part of it...

Ok, forget the arrow... Let's say you are fighting a minotaur. what do minotaurs always wear as required by RPG law? That's right, a nose ring. Enlarge on the nose ring and you have one pissed off minotaur who might actually take damage from it.

The hinges are attached to the door.

"Attended" is a very different word. In the case of "an attended object", it means a creature is looking after it, or carrying it, or in direct possession of it.

The alternative would be enlarging the hinges, causing them to splinter the wood of the door, perhaps?

Or hammer a wedge of some sort into place and enlarge that.

A wedge could be dangerous, if it enlarges and squeezes itself back out of the crack, shooting across the room.

The hinges would be a good idea... Likewise, you could enlarge the latch/lock of the door, splintering the doorjamb, or the lock. Then you just swing the door open.

Just wait until you get second level spells and load up Shatter. That's much more impressive!
Shatter creates a loud, ringing noise that shatters brittle,
nonmagical objects; sunders a single solid, nonmagical object; or
damages a crystalline creature
