Can golems willingly accept spells?

I know golems have spell immunity but I was wondering if a golem could willing accept a spell. Such as bull strength or bears endurance.

If they can, I was also wondering if you could shrink the golem with a spell, (forget what it is called) and put it in your pocket. Making a pocket golem, which you could take anywhere with you, and when you are in a battle, all you have to do is take it out, place it on the ground, remove the spell, and step back and watch the show.

Well, I'm not sure if it would be BALANCED, but I'd probably work with a player who wanted to Craft Shrink Item into a golem so that it could be reduced at whim and put in your pocket (although as most golems are about 9 feet tall, it makes it down to about seven inches - about the size of a human hand).

Hmm... that'd make an interesting gift for a young prince(ss). Incorporate it into a Shield Guardian. Most the time, it's an action figure/doll, that just happens to be animated (and can play back - it needs a rudimentary amount of intelligence; it's only a few grand of an add on, if you go with the intelligent items section... and the ever useful Cure Moderate Wounds is on the lesser powers list). Push come to shove, it's a 9 foot bodyguard. The upgraded version (e.g., a Greater Stone Golem, or a 45 HD Shield Guardian) would actually be about 15 feet tall (at full size) and almost 1 foot tall in "Play" form. You could even use the "cloth-like consistency" clause on it so it can be tossed about without hurting anyone....

But what kind of an add-on price would you use for such a thing?

Edit:
Oh, right - the question.
Sorry, no - they have "Immunity to Magic", not unbeatable spell resistance. It just happens to affect anything that permits spell resistance.

Bodyguard doll? Yoink!
Heh heh, enjoy.

Minimal "template":

Minimally intelligent item: +1,000 gp (market): two mental scores at 12, one at 10; 30 foot vision and hearing, one lesser power.
Item can use Cure Moderate Wounds on wielder 3/day (do note that a Shield Guardian very explicitly has a wielder; the one wearing the amulet): +6,500 gp (market)
Ad-hock "stealth" factor: +10,000 gp (market)
Net cost increase: +17,500 gp.

Hmm... it's a construct with an intelligence score and HD - technically, it gets feats and skills.... is that good or bad?

Ah well, I think I'll stat it up as a full template, and post in Hombrew...

Well, unless the golem was intelligent and therefore capable of being willing, I'd have to say no. Could it be ordered to lower its magic resistance? I suppose so, although some GMs might rule otherwise.

Golems do not have any spell resistence. They have Magic Immunity and that can't be lowered.
