Can half-elves be fixed?

I'd give them the +1 to skills and let that be that. Give them a feat and your talking ECL increase.

1 Feat does not equal an ECL increase Stalker. Esp if it is a non-combat non-magic feat. You think giving half-elves a free alertness, endurance, run, or some such is going to be enough to bump them up a level? Sorry, all I know is that in 3 years of 3ed, I've seen 1 hafl-elf, and that was my first group and his first character.

People have no problem giving the half-elf 20 odd ranks in a skill by level 20, but one measley feat and people are up in arms. Can you get +20 or even better 20 ranks in a skill for one feat? I didnt think so.
