Can I download the 2e books?

And if so, where?

The game is out of date, and out of print. I was wondering if there is a site out there with all of the rules on it, or possibly someplace where I can download a pdf version of the rules or something.

TIA

Most of the major PDF sites have electronic copies of the 1e/2e/ODnD rules. While I'm not sure if the enworld store is carrying them at present, I do know there's a fair range of books on RPGNow and Paizo.com

Also, try your local half-price books or the equivalent. They normally have a large assortment of out of print roleplaying games. Heck, you might find some good 3.0 or 3.5 mixed in as well. And you should try the WOTC site. I think they have some downloads there as well for free.

It probably goes without saying, but thanks for not posting illegal/free links, folks. It's appreciated.
What about legal and free links? As being given out by WotC itself on Wizards.com?

WotC keeps a significant number of 2nd Edition suppliments and sourcebooks, and a few 1st Edition modules for free download on their web page, and have for years. It's mostly odds and ends (but the 2e Legends and Lore is a gem), although there is an entire campaign setting (Savage Coast), and piles of old Forgotten Realms sourcebooks and adventures.

They don't have the core rules, so you'll still have to download the 2nd Edition Players Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide and Monstrous Manual (not Monster Manual, the big hardcover in 2e was the Monstrous Manual) from another site, or pick it up on eBay, probably for cheap.
