First Post
i would appreciate feedback on how i can improve it

So far i came up with this

Gauntlet of The Apocalypse Dragon
Wondrous Item, Artifact (Requires Attunement)

Aegis Of the Damned: As a action, the wielder of the Gauntlet is able to summon a set of Plate Armour. While the wielder is wearing the armour, they gain resistance to all breath weapons for dragons

The player can use it's bonus action to emit a 10ft aura around them
.When a creature starts it turn in the aura or moves into the aura, must succeed on DC 16 Dex saving throw or they take 2d10 Fire Damage as well as 2d10 Cold Damage and half as much on a successful save. The player will be able to sustain the aura for 10 minutes per day in increments of one minute at a time, and regain the minutes use per hour the player has rested

Flesh of Ice and Fire: When attuned to the gauntlet, you gain the following benefits:
You have Resistance to both fire and cold damage.
You don't suffer the effects of extreme heat and cold.

Sentience. The Gauntlets of the Apocalypse Dragon is a sentient Chaotic Evil item with an Intelligence of 16, a Wisdom of 10, and a Charisma of 20. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet.

The item can speak, read, and understand Common, Draconic. In addition, the item can
communicate telepathically with any character that carries or wields it.

Personality. The Gauntlet's sole purpose is to eliminate every single dragon in existence and absorb the power of them in order to reach perfection.

Curse: The wearer is compelled to seek out dragons no matter their colour or alignment and will attack them without remorse
The Player is instantly aware of any dragon within a 5 mile radius, even if it is shape changed into another being (e.g. humanoid)
When the player senses a dragon with in 5 miles , they must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom save or become Compelled , and seek out nearest dragon and slain it, and once slain the effect of the Compelled fades and you cant be affected charm again until the next dawn

Mechanically, the wearer is within their own aura and will slowly die from it as it affects all creatures. Is this intended?

The aura is a lot of damage. You're basically a one-person apocalypse when it comes to cities, which I guess is fair, given the name of the item. For comparison, a balor's aura is less than half as powerful. It's also a lot of saving throws to roll, since it affects everyone all the time.

The requirement to seek out dragons everywhere makes it seem like this is for bad guys. Unless the point of your campaign is to hunt down dragons, anyone with this item is not going to be able to work with a party. But if the bad guy has it, then they aren't going to care about the PCs at all, because the PCs aren't dragons. And the armor doesn't actually protect against dragons in any way (aside from providing AC 18 and resistance to two types of breath weapon), which means you're just going to die against the first big dragon you come across.

If this is supposed to be a useful item that the PCs might get, then I would tone down the compulsion to always fight dragons (maybe re-work it to look like the Geas spell), and also put a limit on the aura. Maybe give it ten minutes of aura per day, which you can activate as a bonus action, in increments of one minute at a time. I'd also have it give resistance to all breath weapons, rather than generic fire/cold resistance.

so for the curse would it sound better if, if the player senses a dragon with in 5 miles , they must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom save or become charmed , and seek out nearest dragon and slain it, and once slain the effect of the charmed fades and you cant be affected charm again untill the next dawn

If that's all it does, it might as well be named "Gauntlet of Suicide by Dragon"

It compels you to seek out and fight any dragon within 10 miles, no retreat, no surrender, no planning - but all it gives you is AC 18, a moderately damaging aura that will annoy a dragon, and resistance to fire and cold damage (which may or may not help you against a dragon).

Why would anyone want this thing?

That could work. You probably wouldn't say "charmed", because that's a standard status condition that gives someone Advantage on Charisma checks against you. I'd probably go with "compelled" instead.
