This is more for fun then anything else.

We all have that one item we really liked so much we decided to update it.

Here's mine, let's see yours:

The Wand of the Squid from U3: The Final Enemy

Wand of the Squid​

Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

Carved from deep-sea coral and adorned with tiny suction cups, this wand pulses with eerie energy. The Wand of the Squid has 7 charges and regains 1d6+1 charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the wand crumbles into dust and is destroyed.

Tentacle Strike.​

As an action, you can expend 1 charge to summon an inky-black tentacle from the wand. The tentacle lashes out at a creature within 30 feet. Make a melee spell attack using your spellcasting ability. On a hit, the target takes 2d6 bludgeoning damage and is grappled (escape DC 15). The grapple lasts for 1 minute or until the tentacle is dismissed as a bonus action. While grappled, the target is restrained, and you cannot use the wand to attack another creature.

Ink Cloud.​

As an action, you can expend 2 charges to release a 20-foot-radius sphere of dark ink centered on yourself. The ink spreads around corners and heavily obscures the area for 1 minute or until a strong current disperses it. Creatures with blindsight or tremorsense can see through the ink normally.

Squid’s Embrace.​

As an action, you can expend 3 charges to summon three spectral tentacles that lash out at creatures within a 10-foot radius of a point you choose within 30 feet. Each creature in the area must make a Strength saving throw (DC 15) or be grappled by a tentacle (escape DC 15). Grappled creatures take 2d6 bludgeoning damage at the start of their turn until they escape.

Elder Squid’s Wrath.​

If you expend all the wand's charges at once, an illusory vision of a massive kraken briefly looms over you, and each creature of your choice within 30 feet must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15) or be frightened for 1 minute.
