Can itineritive attacks be split between targets?

this is a simple question, but it came up a while ago, and couldn't find the answer.

Can itinerative attacks target different targets for each roll? How about things like rapid shot and multishot?

Short Answer: Yes.

Long Answer: Yes.

(just kidding) Yeah, you can attack anyone you can reach. Nothing says you have to direct all your iterative attacks at one target. In fact, there is a specific rule that says you can take a 5' step in the middle of an iterative attack, which would only be useful if you wanted to attack more than one person.

Manyshot specifies a single target, though; it's a special case.

For other cases of multiple attacks (whether from BAB, Rapid Shot, or whatever), you don't even need to specify your target until after you've seen the result of previous attacks. If I have three shots with my longbow (BAB +6/+1 and Rapid Shot, say), I can shoot one arrow, see its effect, then decide whether to shoot my second arrow at the same target or a different target, see its effect, then pick a target for my third arrow.

Full Attack

If you get more than one attack per round because your base attack bonus is high enough, because you fight with two weapons or a double weapon or for some special reason you must use a full-round action to get your additional attacks. You do not need to specify the targets of your attacks ahead of time. You can see how the earlier attacks turn out before assigning the later ones.
