Can monsters make unarmed strikes?

I think TheMagog is referring to attacking with a natural attack.

It seems odd to go the circuitous route of grappling in order to achieve the objective of dealing damage equivalent to an unarmed strike... instead of just using an unarmed strike!

Monsters can use unarmed strikes, and even take the IUS feat. It's just when combining natural attacks with a monk's flurry that things get wonky. Everything else is kosher.

Since you don't live in a world with the rules that govern D&D, it's a lousy analogy. And it's not that hard to catch a mosquito without killing it, for what it's worth.

Are you sure you only have 10 dex? Or do you mean you allow it to bite you first?
