Can someone recommend Dungeon Tiles for KotS?

just found this thread searching for tips on dungeon tiles.
My idea is to tape them on a sheet of paper with double-sided tape. I tested it with 3M, and they don't seem to harm the surface.
This way I can prepare most encounter areas in advance and pull them out when needed, without assembling nightmares. If I run out of tiles, it's ok to leave parts out and put them in on the fly. What do you guys think?

I scan them into the computer, and in photoshop arrange them, cut them, populate them, as I need.
I then print them out on cardstock.
Only if I need an original dungeon designed by me, will I use them at the table.... For KOTS, the 6x6 rooms in KOTS aren't even included in the Dungeon Tiles...

Orcus: sounds like a reasonable idea, as long as you're willing to attach the tiles to tape. Moving the tiles around to fill in gaps when you don't have enough might be a bit confusing though. There's nothing wrong with scanning the dungeon tiles or just sketching out the missing spot on paper IMO.

I scanned every map from the book, photoshopped the enemies out, printed on cardstock, cut and taped. Very time consuming, but the end result was well worth it.

Your players must love you.

They didn't actually come out and say it, but i like to think so. ;)

I've posted about this very topic before in other forums. Yes, you can use dungeon tiles to recreate the maps, but they will often deviate from the actual layout, and you'll have to have a ton of pieces (not all at once of course). You're also missing out on the hand-drawn details present on the book maps...beds, firepits, rock formations, etc. I'm bothered that WotC didn't offer a way to recreate the keep itself, perhaps with scaled, downloadable maps. There are also very, very good maps you can find online that people have done in CC3, such as the Cartographers Guild.

does anyone know the product numbers for the different dungeon tiles or links to where you can buy them? searching "dungeons and dragons tiles" is predominantly giving me the most recent products.

I am contemplating the worth of attempting to convert some MK dungeon tiles.

For reference: Mage Knight Dungeons Builders Sets 1, 2 & 3 NEW!!! - eBay (item 270293971626 end time Nov-26-08 17:33:41 PST)

The boards are either 3x5 or 5x5 tiles. in inches the 3x5 is 5"x7.5", which translates to about 1.67" x 1.5" per tile. This, combined with their use of 1 tile wide hallways (dangerous for D&D) makes me want to split each tile into 4 as a 2x2. This would be about .87"x.75" per tile. Would this be too small for most D&D minis? If it is, I imagine I could scan them, enlarge them to maybe 6"x9" or 6"10", getting my desire 2" tiles to be quartered into 1" tiles. Does anyone have any experience with such a project and any recommendations for getting said images onto sturdy card stock?

I love some of the ideas in this thread, I've got to adopt some of them.

I like the idea of printing the dungeon out. I like the tiles though...

Anyway, does anybody remember the dungeon tile mapper WotC put up a while back? It's still around and updated, you can find it at dungeon_tiles : D&D Dungeon Tile Maps (WotC)

Note that it is not a WotC site.
