Can You Hang a Halfling?

Why do I see my players' characters finding a report from the LN city hangman on halfling hanging in the near future? ;)

Legal documents from a fantasy world could contain a lot of interesting stuff like that, what with there being so many strange kinds of creatures committing crimes. For example, how do you punish an Ettin, if it wasn't destroyed outright like my Paladin would do. Would you hang both heads or just the one who's guilty?

How about a mage who might have a trick up his sleeve and not die in a hanging? For example he's cast flight beforehand.

If his name is 'Art', yes.

Death would be likely in any event. It requires very little pressure on the neck to cut off the flow of blood to the brain. It wouldn't be fast, though.

I think any known spellcaster would have a few dispel magics thrown his/her way before the drop. Bounding the hands and gaging the mouth plus no spell components would prevent most casting.

The question is not can you hang halflings. The question is whether halflings are hung.

All we know for sure is that Lidda hangs out with humans and dwarves.
