. . . through an opponent if your allowed to shift more than one square. e.g. Can you shift through and enemy with the Rogue's Tumble power. Why or why not?

I'm sure this has been asked and answered before but I can't search the forums.

Not sure why you'd need to search the forum. Can you move through an enemy normally? No. Does shifting allow you to move through an enemy? No. If you have a power that lets you shift more than one square can you shift through an enemy? No. If you have a power that lets you shift more than one square AND shift through enemies, can you? Yup.

You can do this if the enemy is helpless or two sizes larger or smaller than you. Otherwise no.

Bear in mind that, though, that since diagonal movement costs only one square in 4E, shifting through an opponent's square (for an opponent that occupies a single square) has the same movement cost as shifting around the opponent's square. As long as you have the physical space to shift around an enemy (i.e. you aren't in a one-square wide corridor), you can shift around him, and I see no good reason you couldn't describe it as vaulting over/under/around the enemy in whatever manner you see fit.

There's a case where this isn't true:
Code:
.....
...D.
..E..
.C...
.....
If the character at C wants to move to the destination at D, the fastest way is to go through the enemy at E.

The Acrobatics skill fluff mentions that you can somersault over an enemy. I'd allow this as part of movement at some appropriate DC. Of course, you'd still trigger OAs normally.
