Can you use the Persistent Spell feat on True Strike?

What Crothian said. A Persistent True Strike would last 24 hours OR until your first attack, whichever comes first. It will not last for more than one attack.

It's not worth it, honestly. A level 5 (3e) or 7 (3.5. IIRC) spell just to have a +20 insight bonus and no miss chance on your first attack roll of the day?

Yeah, I guess it would work like that. Good call.

It would be worth it under the very limited circumstances of going to bed knowing you;re going to go adventuring the next day. Especially if you;re a sorcerer, you coudl cast it just before going to sleep, and enjoy the benefit if you need to early the next day.

otherwise, heck no. It -might- be worth it as a scroll for (for example) a Paladin who manged to get UMD as a class skill, so he could reap the benefit. (Imagine Power Attacking for, say 12 with a 2-handed sword while using true strike).

It might not even work at all depending on how you define the word "discharged", because persistent spell explicitly doesn't work on spells that are discharged (and unless there is some more specific definition offered in the book, then I'd say true strike is dicharged).

Exactly. I can picture Joe the Wizard spending his only 7th-level spell slot on a Persistant True Strike shortly after preparing his spells in the morning. Just then, Bob the Fighter walks over.

Bob: "Hey, Joe... toss me that potion vial, will ya?"

Joe: "Sure, here ya go.... DAMMIT!"

I honestly don't think it'd be worth spending that much money (and investing the skill ranks necessary to cast a 7th-level spell) just to be able to full power attack once per day. After all, what happens if your first opponent is an Owlbear on the way to the Evil Wizard's lair? The Paladin's gonna have to sit out unless he wants his thousands of GP to be wasted on a Neutral Owlbear. Why not just get scrolls of True Strike (at first level), and use them the first round of Combat? Same effect, but it takes a round to do, and doesn't take so much money.

I agree that this is not the best use of the spell. What I do see as a realistic use would be if you have a Sorcerer in the party (with the appropriate feats) who happened to have a 7th level spell slot left at the end of the day before he goes to sleep. If you don't have anything better to do with it, might as well cast persistent True Strike on somebody and try and get some use out of it the next day.
