Cannibal hillbilly dwarves!

Well, sounds like you've already got an idea about your cannibals being somewhat civilized. My only suggestion, which was hinted at by others is to throw in an actual undead. Whatever is appropriate for the party level, which the dwarves haven't been able to deal with, maybe it's "crazy Uncle Elrock" or that is sneaky enough they haven't noticed when their own supplies get eaten up earlier than expected.
I actually like the idea of an undead who's been chained up in a room. Intelligent too. So they don't want to eat him, but don't know what to do with him.

Wendigo are often characterized as spirits of cold and hunger. I've seen them represented as people who've starved to death, people who've gone cannibal, etc.

Yeah, well Morlock also equals goblin. And as for your elves as Eloi conception, it may be that elves in some sense inspired Eloi in the first place.

I can't agree: the similarities are purely cosmetic. HGW pointed out that the Moorlocks & Eloi were the result of 8000 centuries or so of evolution upon the lower and upper classes of the industrial age. The Eloi were like human songbirds...virtually devoid of culture and intellect. The Moorlocks wer not clever or innovative- they merely maintained the machinery they always had, not knowing the "why" of their actions. (Although, as predators of the sheeplike Eloi, they have overturned the social structures of the Industrial Age. "Eat the Rich!")

In contrast, goblins are clever and creative. Elves and fey are not just beautiful, they are deeply cultured with deep memories.

Yeah, but it's not HIS fault the twist is revealed, spoiling the movie with their official trailer. Besides, they had to do SOMETHING to let us know that it wasn't a bog-standard slasher flick.

BTW, thanks- hadn't heard of it, now I'll look for it.

I didn't say it was his fault. I didn't even want him to remove it. It is what it is.

I was just saying, the trailer spoils the movie. It should be half as long as it is.

Edit: and really, it bugs me when an official trailer does that. Are they even trying? Who spoils their own movie? Especially when they have a neat gimmick like that.

I have not actually seen the movie so I didn't know if it was a big spoiler or not. Not a big deal, the link to it is in Jonesy's quote if someone wants to see it.
