Funny thing about that feat, it actually gets worse if you combine it with the one that makes your rolls d8s...

With a d6, it raises the usual 3.5 average by 2.5/6 ~ 0,4167
With a d8, it raises the usual 4.5 average by 3.5/8 ~ 0.4375

Yep, I think that just about covers it.

Improved Sneak Attack from Traps & Treachery: roll d8s instead of d6s.
Sacred Strike from the Book of Exalted Deeds: roll d8s instead of d6s against evil creatures.
Deadly Precision from the Expanded Psionics Handbook: reroll 1s.
Champions of Ruin feat?

Traps and Treachery was the book where I had originally seen it, thank you.

WotC has consolidated/searchable lists for feats, spells and monsters. However, they only include stuff published by WotC. I saw the limited information for Craven on that list, which was not very helpful, but I knew that could not be it since I don't have that book and have not seen it. Now that you mention that it adds one die per level that is way more powerful than what I was thinking.
