Cantina Closing Bash!

Okay everyone... I'm back from my honeymoon and ready to devote some time to the Cantina Closing Bash and giving the ol' gal a finale that's befitting a room like she.

First.. the details...

The bash will be held on Saturday October 18th.

I know that we had talked about doing it October 11th but I had forgot it's the Canadian Thanksgiving that weekend and I'll be out of town. This is the next day I'm available.

I would like to start the party maybe at 2pm eastern (11am pst) and go straight through until midnight or later (depending on the show we get)

Now.. what I need from you are ideas for what you'd like to see happening. Here are some ideas:

- A fight (Lazer, hand-to-hand)
- Dance
- IC Auction, auctioning off pieces of the Cantina

Anything else you can think of you want to have there?

Post your ideas, or email me (reesa@wizardsmoderator.com) and I'll post what's happening once they are all fully planned out. I need all suggestions no later than this Friday October 3 so that I can start working on how to do them, get people involved, etc.

I am going to be the bad guy here and remind everyone that I meant what I said before. The WizO's will not be catering this event, and we do need patron participation. So for those that want to have a bash, they need to be willing to help out and participate in some fashion. I'm happy with Reesa running one or two things, but there needs to be equal and preferably more participation from everyone else.

So pipe up, or expect and accept only one or two small events.

I'm going to repeat what I said on the other thread and state that I'm available to help with this however needed.

As for event ideas: Maybe an event involving the IC destruction of the Cantina itself? It might be cooler to have it "go out with a bang" rather than just being shut down or abandoned or whatever.

Also, the three events Reesa mentioned all sound good to me, and I'd definately be willing to participate in the Auction and Dance. (I'm not sure about the fight as I'm not too found of ISRP combat in general unless its pre-planned as part of a storyline, but that's another issue altogether.)

Um... *insert sound effect here* ...I may not be able to come now... I have a BSA camping trip (again...) that weekend. And I already took off from work... Hmff! Reesa, you are hereby banned from having limitless control over my life for one week, starting friday . I'll have to wait till next week to see whether I can go or not.

Sorry guys.... I had totally forgot about the Canadian Thanksgiving Holiday with all that was in my head for the wedding and honeymoon and plans. It wasn't until I got calls from family regarding the holiday that I remembered about it.

I'll post the events I'm going to do tomorrow as well as anything you guys offer to help with (i.e. the Dance that Dontella has offered to host) so you know what's going to happen and when.

I hope to see you guys there.. Spread the word even if you can't make it! Let's get the word out.

Someone don't let me forget the 18th!

I'd be willing to help out, but ic i woldn't really be organising anything. Besides the fact my character's basically dead ont he message board game (I'll snertishly ignore that for this one time ), she wasn't really a social activity girl... she'd go to things if they struck her curiosity, but not organise them.

That being said, if anyone needs help or maybe support characters for an idea, say so.

I'm not sure why people would want to bid for pits of the Cantina, many would just loot it for free. heh. But if we have destruction of the place, I have but one thing to say...

You know, you could always use a relative on the other side of the boarder to push it back a month. But seriously, it happens. NP. Gives a few of us a weekend free and I just found out two or three reasons today to Q out on the last trip of the month O camping. Now I just gotta surgically remove the Scout who's suppose to be running these things from the girls/a girl for about 36 hours. Either that, or find a snot nosed little brat who's not literly... a snot nosed little brat. Anyways... about that fight... Most of my fondest memories and what I think would be very fun, would be a show down at the r O. c K. Cantina. As for more event orriented things, how about a game of sabbacc, darjik, or a more physical game like Nuva ball (pems). And to follow in the style of Ny, I call the E-webs and targeting system if it's still there, or at least the computer consol.

Well, I've already layed claim to Morra's stash of alcohol and such, specially the whiskey. And I should be around, though it may not be for the whole thing.
