Cantrips and spellbooks

I think that the "logical" answer is that there are probably cantrips written down in "training spellbooks" which probably also have even weaker, more basic spells that mages use to learn/teach magic. I suspect that someone who has the cantrip "prestidigitation" is a keener who's master dozens of those spells...
