Casting for a *good* Dungeons and Dragons movie

A good cast for a Dungeons and Dragons movie:

Fighter: Michael Clarke Duncan
Cleric: Samuel L. Jackson (when he turns undead, they stay turned!)
Wizard: Morgan Freeman
Rogue: Denzel Washington

Villain: James Earl Jones

Director/Producter/Writer: Spike Lee

This would be awesome on so many levels.

A good movie of any stripes starts with a solid story and screenplay. You can cast all the name actors you want, but if you have a shoddy script, you got nothing.

And I seriously doubt Spike Lee would ever attempt a sword & sorcery movie. It's not in his fairly well established genre.

EDIT: and I'm not so sure about this proposed cast. I just can't see Denzel Washington as the rogue. You'd be better off with a Jack Black, Chris Rock, even a Steve Buscemi.

I'd rather see this one:

Fighter - Cedric The Entertainer
Cleric - Steve Harvey
Wizard - D. L. Hughley
Rogue - Bernie Mac

Gold, I tell you! GOLD!

Some one wants a decent script? I'd say first we use a great module/adventure path. Age of Worms man.

Cast wise:

Christian Bale as the paladin/ranger
Jet Lee as the Ninja (hey this is D&D after all)
Allyson Hannigan as the "Warmage"
Roserio(sp) Dawson as the Tielfing Favored Soul.

Villian: Kyuss' voice: Steven Jay Blum. :p :)

Fighter: The chick from Bloodrayne
Wizard: Garry Shandling
Cleric: Mr T
Rogue: Gary Coleman

Villain: Tom Baker

Or heck, why not just use the whole A-Team cast, with Dwight Schultz being the Wizard and Face the Rogue?

Oh yeah, and Steven Seagal as the Monk...
