Casting for a *good* Dungeons and Dragons movie

How about something Racially Diverse? D&D shouldnt be something that would fit on the BET lineup...

and why not!?

I've long had the suspicion, and this post tells me it is true. Black skinned elves, black skinned dwarves, black skinned dragons, all evil villains!

IS D&D A WHITE MAN'S GAME?

I think it may well be. Let a D&D movie start on BET instead of SciFi, it's about time that D&D was available to ALL the people, regardless of skin color.

(Yeah, I've done it before...)

Paladin - Kermit the Frog
Monk - Miss Piggy
Bard - Fozzie Bear
Rogue - Gonzo

Secondary Cast

Berzerker - Cookie Monster
NPC Cleric (higher level) - The Swedish Chef
Wizard Apprentice - Beaker

For a complete "against type" Villain.......Big Bird!

Directed by Quentin Tarrantino

Muppet blood and guts everywhere...

My First Cast

Bard: Q'Orianka Kilcher
Cleric: Morgan Freeman
Fighter: Edgar Ramirez
Monk: Michelle Yeoh
Rogue: Steve Buscemi
Wizard: Ghassan Massoud

No one can argue that that list isn't diverse!

The Ultimate D&D Movie

Starring:
Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock (some ass-kicking barbarian)
Max Von Sydow (a bad-guy)
Ian McKellan (a wizard bad-guy)
Mako (exactly the same character as in Conan the Barbarian)
Pete Postlethwaite (Look him up on IMDB -- Innkeeper -- all quests begin in an Inn)
Hugo Weaving (some crappy elf king the PCs have to do a quest for)
Steve Buscemi (a rogue)
Yun-Fat Chow (a monk)
Vin Diesel (a half-orc)
Michelle Yeoh (a hot ninja enemy)
Judi Dench (an NPC cleric who raises from the dead one of the above)
Michael Berryman (that freaky bald mutant biker guy from Weird Science -- a cultist)
Marc Singer (None other than The Beastmaster, as the mentor of one of the main characters)
Ving Rhames (Grandmaster of the Guild of Thieves)

Ok, that should be good enough to get started. But we need more ass-kicking hot females to make this work.

Ugh. I hope none of these movies ever get made! :p

I don't know specifically what type of character I'd cast any of these actors as (they're all so talented they could play anything), but I'd love to see a D&D movie written and directed by Luc Besson, that included most of the British/Australian cast of LOTR (Ian McKellen, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett) and the Harry Potter films (Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, Michael Gambon), and a few of the more distinguished actors from the X-Men franchise (Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart).

I'm just glad no one put Tom Cruise anywhere - that guy couldn't act his way out a wet paper bag with an ice pick...

Fighter - The Rock (Pro Wrestler)
Paladin - Mekhi Phifer
Wizard - Wil Wheaton (also an avid gamer)
Druid - Alyson Hannigan
Rogue - Vin Deisel (also an avid gamer)

Villian - Julie Andrews
Evil Henchman #1 - Michael Dorn
Evil Henchperson #2 - Rachel Ray

Writer - John Logan
Director - Steven Salkind
Producer - Peter Jackson

Some real good choices here and I for one would love a live action of the old D&D cartoon, with CGI and all the way it is today, I think you could pull kids into D&D by putting out a GOOD movie with a real script and base it on the cartoon, now that being said a real R rated D&D movie would kick butt as well.

You got it all wrong.

Fighter: Paul Bettany
Wizard: Vin Diesel
Cleric: Jessica Alba
Rogue: The Rock
The Damsel in Distress: Bea Arthur

The Villian: Donald Trump
Evil Deamon: Billy Crystal
