Casting Identify from a scroll

I imagine this has been asked before, but what's the casting time for casting Identify from a scroll? I thought it would still require the 8 hours as it does for the spell. However, on page 175 of the DMG under Spell Completion, is says (and I'll truncate):

This is the activation method for scrolls...Activating a spell completion item is a standard action and provokes attacks of opportunity exactly as casting a spell does.

It doesn't say it takes as long as the spell does (like 8 hours for identify or 1 full round for a summon spell). It says a standard action.

So Identify can be cast from a scroll in 1 round instead of 8 hours from a standard casting?

DMG pg 175 Using Items: "Activating a magic item is a standard action unless the item indicates otherwise. However, the casting time of a spell is the time required to activate the same power in an item, whether it's a scroll, a wand, or a pair of boots, unless the item description specifically states otherwise."

Emphasis mine. Basicaly, use whatever the casting time of the original spell is when activating from a scroll. Just be glad you don't have to provide the 100gp gem, ;)

Well, the scroll's creator did that. That's why a CL 1 scroll of identify costs 125 gp, and not just 25 gp.
