My absolute favorite old school adventure. Period, hands down. I've played all the way through this and run it straight through about three times.
It also introduced me to Clark Ashton Smith and so it gets double points for that. (If you're curious, you can read a fair bit about Averogine here/.)

I've run this module at least twice and is by far my favorite module of all time. I especially loved the ghostly meal and the brain collector. I'm tempted to run it again in some way.

I'm running my 4th edition group through it now. I've always loved it. In fact, I mentioned Stephen early in the campaign and my cousin(who DM'd this for me years ago), looked at me and said "Awesome".
So far the banquet was a blast and the role playing during the possession by Catherine was great.

We played this quite recently, converted to 3.5. The mad bits were a laugh and quite enjoyable (the banquet, the chapel with its magic pillars), and we spent ages trying to get the golden acorns together; but the coloured-rooms were a bit of a drag.

My ranger came out of it with increased stats, and a tail. Oh, and I got blinded from running across that lettered square. It wasn't a good time for him :(
