Castle Works -Oh My Word...

Their 'Maiden' is by far the most beautiful large scale ship in wargaming (at least that I have seen). The thing is a project that you'll have to devote days if not a good week to, but the end result is incredible.

Of course, I built the ship and thought of a perfect encounter to have with the party aboard it. And then one player ends up killing the raiders with one arrow.. The ship was used for a total of 3 seconds in game time ;)

Ah well, next encounter.

Castleworks looks stunning. If I had the cash and time, I'd nab it as well, but admittedly I have way too many of their other sets to put together as it is, and enough castle stuff to last me several centuries as it is (Some by WoTC, some by terrain companies).

Heh, just took a look to see how long it took to download. 5 hours and 27 minutes. I slept through a longer bit than I thought.

And I agree Maiden of the High Seas is gorgeous. Castle Works Ultimate is equally impressive, and even bigger. But I forsee a lot of use of the Maiden in my future.

Pirate Cat: Are you waiting for the print version of The Maiden to come out? I am glad that I got the PDF, but there were times when I wished that I had it printed. (I ran out of Ink part way through...) CWU is another one that would be great in print, and I know that one is planned. I put together a steam kitbash of the Maiden, using a pair of waterwheels from the village set to make a sidewheeler. (Haven't used it in the game yet though.)

I just put together a quick model. just a tower, a wing off of the tower and a stairway, trying things out. Feels good. I have not used the courtyard tiles yet, I am mounting this on a foam insulation hill.
