we mailed a slew on tuesday, wen and a few today

so people should be receiveing them anytime now.

I haven't seen mine yet, so I'm hoping it went out on Friday. I'm hopefully running my first C&C game on Saturday, and was hoping to run the mod. If not, I might try that freebie on the Trolls' website.

I won't get mine for at least a week... :(
Post a review on the review site!!

I'm afraid I'm not much of a reviewer, my flair for writing doesn't exceed a mildly imaginative free-form sort of bent.

Even if that were true, and I've seen enough of your posts to dispute it, all that's involved in a basic review is a summary of what the adventure contains, how imaginative it is, and how well it presents the material. As long as it covers these issues, it's a solid review - even if it isn't the length or in the detail of the reviews done by the ENworld staff reviewers.

But I won't pester: I'm just dying to hear about it, since it matches up with where my party is at the moment (a mountain ridge) better than Yggsburgh does (river town)...

I preordered my copy, but it hasn't shown yet. I also preordered the Monsters and Treasures book, so maybe they're going to ship them together.

Anyone else get Assault yet? Any more thoughts?

You're far too generous in your assessment of my abilities, but thank you. I will try to post some sort of comments when I feel that I have assimilated the data enough to make an informed post on it. I also dont have a retail copy yet, but a copy that Davis was kind enough to let me peruse, which might differ from the final retail version. I will find out as soon as I have time to get over to their office to pick up a copy.

Ah, the benefits of living near the publishers...

My copy arrived on my doorstep today. :) On a cursory examination, I like the adventure but hate the stat-blocks. Maybe it's the grognard in me talking, but I prefer a more "stat" heavy block (a la 1st/2nd ed) rather than the "narrative" blocks used in the adventure (and in the Yggsburgh preview).

The adventure itself is very open-ended - Blacktooth Ridge can be the site for an entire campaign if the Castle Keeper wishes. More as I have a chance to read through the module.

The module arrived in my mailbox today! :D

I have just had a quick look, but so far my overall impression is quite positive.

The cover is quite nice. I think that the 'unified look' for C&C that TLG is using is quite attractive -- and it helps to distinguish the C&C stuff from other product lines. The cover picture is also quite good, though it may give away too much to the players (i.e. it includes a picture of the BBE).

Minor complaint: the regional map is seriously lacking. This is not a big deal, as I intend to use the module in my homebrew setting anyway. Nonetheless, the map looks rather sketchy and unprofessional. The village map is also mediocre, and I will probably have to redraw it for my game.

Complaints aside, the module looks packed with good stuff! The town looks well detailed, and could serve as the base for lots of low level adventures. There are 4+ different adventure areas around the town, all of which look interesting (though some seem a little tough for 1st level characters, e.g. one encounter involves a troll). Only two encounter areas involve maps. The others, I guess, are too small to require them (one of the smaller ones involves a witch's lair, another a troll bridge, etc.).

Anyway, I will write more (possibly a review) once I get the chance. Right now, I have to dash out to meet some friends for pints!
