Castles & Crusades - Assault on Blacktooth Ridge

Davis also mentioned on another thread that there's a considerable amount of material that was cut from Assault on Blacktooth Ridge for page-count reasons. He also strongly implied that it's eventually going to get posted on the web as a supplement.

Sweet!

Anyway, I will write more (possibly a review) once I get the chance. Right now, I have to dash out to meet some friends for pints!

Woohoo! That'll take me off the hook for a while. I have been too busy to do the amount of reading I want to lately. This includes the new material for C&C, unfortunately.

Woo-hoo!

My copy just arrived in the mail today. Looking forward to reading it.

I will say it's got a beautiful cover. Just at a glance, it reminds me of some of the old mods I've played.

I got my copy about three days ago (just before the Easter weekend started). It's very good. It's like Keep on the Borderlands, but with multiple small dungeons rather than the one large one. There are many plot hooks that can lead beyond the module, which is a nice touch.

The map tries to be both a player map and a CK map - I think this was not a good decision, although it's not a killer. As the CK, I like to see a more definitive map - it helps me keep things straight in my mind.

All in all, it's very good. If my party weren't 10th level, I'd run this module as a starting point for a campaign.

Is the C&C stuff compatible with D&D 3.x? Are the monster stat blocks fairly similar?
How about that Castle Zagyg series, is that for C&C or D&D or both?
thanks

Compatibility is pretty good, but it's easier to convert from 3E to C&C than the other way around.
Zagyg will only have C&C rules, which is partially for legal reasons.

Finally got mine thru the ENWorld store since my FLGS cant decide if they will stock third party modules. Though slightly bent (thanks postal service) its been a nice read. Definately has a Keep on the Borderlands feel..alot of places for a campaign to start.

I also dig the Erde setting. Its kinda grown on me. I downloaded the Erde gazetteer which is just vague enough for me to fill in some blanks. I love the Germanic feel of the setting.

Im hoping the rest of the "A" series is as good.

I have a potential hijack question, but..about where in Erde is Blacktooth ridge located? I assume its east, and not too far from Ausfang.

I ask because I got the dl of the Erde gazateer. Its got alot of nice history and has a general world map, but its also wonderfully vague for us CKs to plop stuff into.

Thanks

Can't answer your question about the module, but I do want to make sure you knew that the Erde campaign book is on sale for $10.00 at TLG's site. Of course you may want to wait until the release of the C&C version.

Ya and the module pack offer which I assume is still valid is tempting, but Ill probably wait for the redux. And the gazetter gives a really nice jumping off point for DMs- I actually like all the blank spaces.
