Castlevania Slated for 2007

Think Van Helsing with fewer cast members and more melee battles. The action of the VH movie felt about right to make jokes that it was the Castlevania movie.

MK 1 was a Fine movie and grand for a Video game adapt. MK2 was wretched because for some reason the felt they absolutely had to show the faces of Shao Khan & Motaro's actors. When they focused on the joke fatalities [animalities] as a plot point, the movie was good as dead.

Yeah but Andwerson had nothing to do with MK:A which says alot.

Well I enjoyed MK1 & MK2. And if there wasn't enough sales or interest, MK3 wouldn't be in the works.

Well, to me "Aliens Vs. Predator" was horrible. Yeah, "Mortal Kombat", "Event Horizon", "Soldier" , and "Resident Evil" were'nt super bad....but then none of them were really good either.

If this was school, it seems Anderson can never direct anything over a "C" quality. I never see a movie of his and give him a "B" or an "A". I also dislike how Hollywood seemingly keeps giving him video game license movies because he has "experience" with them. Hollywood really needs to try harder in finding new talent.

Well, I'm just glad he's not doing "Halo".

Ok so which director would you have chose, Anderson or Boll if those were your only choice? Myself I would still pick Anderson.
Other than your false dichotomy, I don't think this is really a question. Of course we'd all pick Anderson over Boll. But that wasn't even an issue in this entire thread.

And we can all hope to not have to settle for either.

Aside: Anderson is all over the board, for me. I thought Aliens vs. Predator was unwatchable drek (no, I didn't have "fun", which, in any case, is the ENWorld euphimism for ":):):):)ty") and hated Event Horizon, but I thought Soldier was okay, and I loved both Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil (though I'm wondering if I should give more credit to the scriptwriter, there...).

Anderson is attached to great concept movies if nothing else, though.

Oh yeah, he's not Uwe Boll. He's no Michael Bay, either.

That said, I don't really like his movies. Mortal Kombat was okay, but it's all been downhill from there. And it's not like MK was a great movie - it was pretty mindless and dumb, but had some nice action (which is what you expect from a movie based on that game).

The trouble is, his later movies have had less action, but have kept mindless and dumb part. (The first Resident Evil was okay, the second reached new heights in dumbness and plot holes).
