PCs-3, ties-2, imaginary cats-0

Our real cat got caught in the cord for the window blind. In the attempt to free it my wife and I suffered numerous bites and scratches, one a 2" scar over my wrist. Some wounds are swollen, and may be infected despite topical antibiotics.

The cat is fine, with a rope burn as her only injury.
If it had just been one of us that cat might have gotten a kill. Would it have been karma?

What level are you? very-low-level characters, especially those with smaller hit dice, should be vary of cats, since their chances to kill such a character isn't bad.

You also should have the thing checked, since it clearly lured you into an ambush. It's possible that it's a werecat. Has your cat been known to change shape into a halfling, gnome, kobold, goblin, or similar small humanoid?

Indeed I'm beginning to suspect my own cats as well. It was alright when they just stole my watch, but recently my radio presets have been changed and the TV channel is on a different channel than the one I watched last before leaving. And my older cat is teaching the two kittens to speak. She's freakish so it was okay when it was just her, but now the kittens are saying "hello" "bug" and "mama."

All the cats in the world are biding their time, waiting for the signal for when they shall rise up and slay all humans. But meanwhile the good food and soft living has made some more eager to delay Felinaggedon for just a few more months.

Your cat obviously didn't get that last memo, and may have screwed their entire plan by tipping you and your wife off.

But what will you do now, with this information? What *will* you do?

Big warning flag. As a heads-up... even house cats can have some nasty bacteria in their mouth. Cat claws are pretty clean, but bites can leave behind serious trouble, a lot of which is resistant to your average household antibiotics nowadays (Three cheers for egregious overuse of antibiotics in modern society). If the infections persist, go see a doctor ASAP. I know of a number of vets who lost fingers because they waited too long on a cat bite.

Well, the best thing to do if you get a scratch or beastie bite is to use some antiseptic on the wound, and you might not have to resort to antibiotics.

Use bleach, so long as the wound is just in skin and muscle chlorine bleach is a surefire way to kill off any infection. But it will cause the cut to leave a thin white scar and it hurts like the dickens.

Yep, this is what irratates me so much about cleaners that have antibiotics in them. They do it because its less harsh, but it encourage resistance. No bacteria in the world can survive a bleach wash (as far as I know).
