Catch the Man - Kinrisar Campaign

DMEntropy

First Post

One, you lock the target.
Two, you paint the line.
Three, you slowly spread the net.
And Four you catch the man.
-----Front 242

The Crane has been reconnoitered by Azeem and Liac in some detail. Little inoformation about their quarry was found here. Azeem managed to recover most of his gambling losses and heard that more young dragons have been sighted.

The Tattered Rag and Bidoum's Well by Ezieer, Mandrin and Agates. Two out of three PC's find these taverns "nice with personality." The third wouldn't piss there on purpose. A potential lead in the name of Hiddas Il'nar, a money changer, was picked up in Bidoum's Well.

"I think I need to check out those secret spots to get thru the town's wall. See if I can pick out some smaler footprints comin too and fro. Well if I don't find something out near those spots. I tink we need to sally up with some sorta ranger friend in the meelitia. Once we can trust him... He can mayhap see sometin our eyes don't. If we run into a fog... we may have to volunteer to do sum task for the meelitia to gain their trust... not sure they like us too much from the reception we got at the gate."

"You've given me an idea Ezieer. I think we may have went about this backwards. Men in the milita are a Sparrow a dozen here, but little folk must be scarce. If we can find how many Halflings and Gnomes life here in Bibbaya, and then find when there were Gnomes and Halflings in town that no one knew it should give us better direction to our man. We find who these "Halflings" and "Gnomes" talked to and that should lead us to the traitor. Perhaps I can work on that while you are checking the walls."

After the brothel fight and jail...

Ezieer will, of course, state that the events transpired as such. It's even true, which is so much easier (but unsatisfying) to make people believe.

He is a little miffed that Tirem might be out of their clutches; nothing that a little volunteering might not fix.

"Well if we want to get close to Tirem again... we need to be the ones taking him to Bibbiya. Hopefully the militia will be too busy to undertake his transport and will hire us to do it. Hmmm... that might be a bad idea... if they pay us... they may expect us to actually deliver him to the proper authorities. We better volunteer instead." (he smiles deviously)

Liac gave a nod. "They believe I am a concerned relative, though I'm not sure they will allow the people he attacked to take him to his jail."

Azeem Razuddi

"Hmm, perhaps this will work to our advantage. Now that we know he was the one involved with Manoryx we will be able to be somewhat more trusting of the milita. I propose we let him be taken to jail, but then we go to the commander of the milita here in town. We explain to him that Tirem is the prime suspect in a grievous crime against the Crolon milita. Which is in fact true. And that we were sent here to apprehend him to bring him back to Crolon for questioning. However, it is highly secret and it cannot be known that we were looking for him lest it alert any conspirators he may have had. His attack on complete strangers only helps prove his guilt, so that is a plus on our side for swaying the commander. If need be, we can go into more details about the attack on the patrol but I would like to leave it as mysterious as possible. We may be able to use the pendant Lady Karnom gave us here. Either as we originally intended by making it appear Tirem took it, or by helping us give authority to our claim. Even if we cannot get the commander to let us take Tirem back to Crolon, we should be able to get some time alone with him to interrogate him here. We can find out as much as possible about Manoryx and mabey even get a better idea of where he might be now. Now, this is fairly risky so what does everyone think?"

All of the equipment and such has been laid out for you at the militia garrison. It all sits upon a table at this time in a big jumble. Let me know what you want from the equipment/treasure or anything that you want to do with it.

The officer of the watch politely asks you to collect your new belongings and be on your way. They are all unmolested by his men he informs you and are just as they found them on Tirem and his accomplice.

"Thank you my good man. Agates can take these things for now we will split them up later. Who might we talk to about some other matters concerning Tirem. The commander here, perhaps, it is rather important, though I'm afraid I can't say much more than that."

The officer of the watch says that he will make a note for the Commander that you wish to meet with him. He suggests that you return in the morning to see when he can do that.

(( Feel free to assume the next morning is here whenever you are ready.))
